CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST for Membership
in the Environment Legal Advocacy Network for South Eastern Europe
under the project Environmental Legal Advocacy/Advisory Centers
in South Eastern Europe
If you are an environmental lawyer who wants to work in the public
interest to help solve environmental problems through use of legal
tools, REC may be able to help you. REC is currently identifying
environmental lawyers in the countries of South Eastern Europe for
possible training and support under the project Environmental Legal
Advocacy/Advisory Centers in South Eastern Europe, financed by the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Netherlands.
Selected lawyers will be included in a regional training network
(Environmental Advocacy Network for South Eastern Europe - EANSEE)
and will be given the opportunity to receive different forms of
financial support (small grants for carrying on environmental legal
advocacy/advisory services, fellowship awards for participation
in environmental law related events etc.)
The membership of the network is opened to interested legal entities/individuals
from the following countries/entities: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina,
Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo/a (territory under interim UN administration),
FYR Macedonia, Romania and Serbia and Montenegro.
The criteria for selection of new members of EANSEE are:
1.. the applicant is an independent environmental lawyer or non-governmental
environmental organisation (NGO) willing to work in the public interest,
2.. the applicant shows a strong interest and commitment to establishing
an environmental legal advocacy/advisory centre and/or performing
environmental legal advocacy/advisory type services, and
3.. the applicant possesses the necessary legal qualifications and
experience to provide legal advocacy/advisory activities.
