Motto: "How to be a better leader
in government and local administration"
LEADERS Romania is a non-governmental organisation that develops
programs in the field of Leadership. Our target is represented by
young, capable, dynamic and motivated people that develop their
activities civil society, governance and public administration,
business and media.
It is our pleasure to announce that between 25-29 of august 2003
we will organise a program that targets the young leaders in the
government and local administration: "Leadership Program For
Young Government Leaders", developed in partenership with British
Council and Ministry of Public Administration and Internal Affairs.
This program is directed to the young leaders active in the administrative
field, in Romania and the South Eastern European countries. In government,
as well as in the local administration, there are capable young
people with a real potential and the skills to create an efficient
administrative system. We encourage the exchange of information
and developments practice of public administration.
The purpose of the summer school is to create the framework for
the development of a ommunity of young government and local public
administration leaders in Romania and in the South Eastern European
Countries, to connect it with similar international organizations
and facilitate the cooperation with these organizations and the
cooperation through exchanges of knowledge, best practices and experiences.
The target audience is represented, as already mentioned, by young,
capable, dynamic and motivated people from various positions in
the central and local administration. The participant countries
are, beside Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Moldova,
Greek,Turkey, Macedonia, Ukraine, Poland and Czech Republic.
The Young Government Leaders Summer School will focus on five training
areas:
- government leadership
- organisational management
- project management
- e-government
- time management and meetings management.
In the last day of the Summer School we will organise a special
session where different international organisations and institutions
will present their own training and assistance programs for the
public administration sector reform. The organisations and institutions
invited are: The British Council, The European Comission , The GRASP
Program (USAID), Freedom House, United Nations Tessaloniki Center
(UNTC), National Democratic Institute for International Affairs
(NDI), International Republic Institute (IRI), Peacecorps, United
Nations Development Program (UNDP).
Also, personalities from the political and administrative sector
in Romania were invited to attend, like Mr. Mircea Geoana, Foreign
Affairs Minister, Mr. Marius Profiroiu, State Secretary ? Ministry
of Public Administration and Internal Affairs, Mr. Florin Lupescu,
State Counselor, International Relations Department ? Presidential
Administration, Mr. Mihai Razvan Ungureanu, Regional Envoy, Stability
Pact for South Eastern Europe, Mr. Stephan Roman, Regional Director,
British Council and personalities from the local administration
in Sibiu. The guest will share their experience with the participants
in a special session, analysing the role of the young leaders in
the reform of the public administration.
The traveling costs will be covered by the participants, and the
rest of the costs will be covered by the organizers.

skills and if you have a public administration position you are
